English Silver Coin Listings
In 1949, Seaby and Rayner wrote the original script for “The English Silver Coinage, 1649 to 1949” and the ESC has for many years been regarded as the standard work of reference on this coinage.
Since that time this reference book has been re-printed several times, with added information and in some cases amended rarities. This section of the website follows the style of ESC, using where possible the original ESC reference numbers. When PHOTO is selected, a pop-up window displaying the selected coin will appear.
In a similar way the rarity of gold coins have been added to the listings.
