Shown above is a pair of dies used for the production of the 1652/1 crown. The reverse die was produced by altering the date of a 1651 die from 1651 to 1652. This obverse die was subsequently used in the production of crown coins for five years from 1651 to 1656.There were two obverse variants used in production during the years 1654/6 and 1656 only.
